About our school

Elizabeth South Primary School was the first public school established in Elizabeth, in 1956.
Our school celebrates a diverse and multicultural community. We provide a caring, safe, and supportive environment where every child and family’s needs are met. We believe that the different cultures, languages, and experiences of our children and their families are strengths that inspire us and help us learn.
At Elizabeth South Primary School, we use trauma-informed practices in everything we do. We plan our environments, activities, and staff training carefully to help both staff and students develop positive attitudes, succeed in their learning, and feel socially connected.
Our vision
At our school, we are dedicated to creating a community where our Learning Code guides how we behave and what we believe. This code gives us a common language to talk about both good and challenging behaviours, helping everyone understand and follow the same expectations. Our Behaviour Education programs are designed to teach and reinforce these expected behaviours, in line with the Learning Code.
We use both proactive and reactive strategies to manage behaviour in the classroom and playground, based on this code. The Learning Code is displayed in all learning areas and key parts of the school, serving as a constant reminder of our shared values.
Our approach is strengthened by the Positive Education PERMA model, which focuses on Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment. We also promote Powerful Learning Dispositions, encouraging resilience, resourcefulness, and reflection in our students. Through these principles, we aim to create a caring and empowering environment for everyone.
